MarcoPolo is a resource for standards-based Internet content for K-12 teachers and students. Marco Polo provides lesson plans, interactive content, worksheets, links reviewed Web sites and resources developed by leading educators and organizations from across the country.

In order to address the many standards that vary from state to state, MarcoPolo has created sites dedicated to many states across the country. MarcoPolo NY was designed specifically for NYS students and teachers. Over 1500 MarcoPolo lessons have been evaluated and linked to NYS Standards.
[edit] Getting Started
Click the Resources link located in the left navigation bar of the MarcoPolo NY web site. To use many of the interactive resources within MarcoPolo, your computer may need to have specific Plugins or Utilities installed. On the Resources page there is a link to a Plugins page.
[edit] Finding Lesson Resources
To start looking for lessons you will want to go the the MarcoPolo NY website. When you arrive at the site you will see a page similar to this.Along the right hand side of the main page you will notice that the NYS curriculum areas are listed. By clicking on the individual curriculum area you will be brought to a page that lists the different standards for that curriculum area. For example by clicking on the Social Studies curriculum link you will be brought to a page that shows the standard areas.
If you were looking for a lesson relating to Geography at the commencement level simply scroll down the page to the Geography standard. On the right across from the standard simply click on the Commencement S3 link and you will be brought to page showing the Performance Indicators to the right of the performance indicator you will see a list of lessons that relate to the standard area and performance indicator.
Simply clicking on one of the lesson titles you will be brought to a page that shows you the details of the lesson. It outlines what standards will be addressed by students completing the lesson.
